Florida's surfing scene is buzzing with excitement as the Eastern Surfing Association (ESA) prepares for its upcoming events. Here's a rundown of the latest highlights and scheduled competitions:
Recent Highlights
• The ESA Southeast Regionals took place in Melbourne Beach, Florida, with talented surfers from local districts competing for top spots. Kyan O'Rourke from ESA St. Augustine's district dominated the event, winning multiple divisions.
• Carlie Eastwood, a young surfer from North Central Florida, had a standout performance, winning both her Junior Women U18 and Girls U16 divisions.
• The ESA recognized its 2025 Marsh Scholarship Award recipients, including Celia Cook, Beau Chan, Mako Musilunas, and Ellie Walsh, who will receive support for their surfing endeavors .
Upcoming ESA Events
• ESA Easterns: September 14-20, 2025, at Jennette's Pier in Nags Head, North Carolina. This prestigious event brings together top surfers from the East Coast to compete for the championship title.
• Southeast Regionals: April 10-12, 2026, location TBD. This event will determine the top surfers in the Southeast region, who will then move on to compete in the ESA Easterns.
• Mid-Atlantic Regionals: April 24-26, 2026, at Jennette's Pier in Nags Head, North Carolina. Surfers from Virginia to South Carolina will gather to compete for a spot in the ESA Easterns.
• Northeast Regionals: May 8-10, 2026, in Ocean City, Maryland. This event will crown the top surfers in the Northeast region and determine the competitors for the ESA Easterns .
Other Surfing Events in Florida
• Florida State Surfing Championship: Although the exact dates are not specified, this event aims to bring together professional and amateur athletes from around the state to compete and crown division leaders.
